What things have gone wrong with the car?Subaru uses .0012mm body metal. Lean against the door and you've got a $2000 problem. Solution--don't lean on the body. Also, the suspension is soft and the car shucks and jives when yanked around. However, I've not found this problem in the Outback. The Legacy Wagon is the Granny version of the Outback.
General comments? The Subaru company is in the business of making EXCELLENT vehicles. I bought the car from its first owner with 120,000 miles on it. In three years I added another 120,000 miles and had absolutely no problems with the engine. For me, the beauty of AWD and the spacious interior allowed five people, five backpacks, and a dog to fit comfortably on and off road. The 2.2 4cyl had no problems with the load.
